I’m Ilkan
I make invisible things perceptible, with sound, light and code.
I’m a Vienna-based audiovisual artist and creative technologist. I turn data, frequencies and dark rooms into real-time experiences: the sound of the Sun, particles that breathe with a DJ set, projections that crawl across brick and steel. I build my work in TouchDesigner, write my own shaders and play my visuals live.

Eigengrau
Audio-reactive particle installation · A Dionysian Night, Wiener Bacchanale, Vienna
Eigengrau is the grey the eye sees in total darkness, the colour of the dark itself. In an old brick vault, a cloud of light hangs in that grey. As the music builds, thousands of particles gather, swirl and climb the walls. On every kick they pulse, and on the drop they explode across the stone before drifting slowly back into the dark.
The room listens to the DJ and to the crowd: the louder the night, the wilder the swarm.

An audiovisual installation that lets you hear the solar system. ESA and NASA’s SOHO observatory has recorded the Sun’s atmosphere for more than twenty years; turned into sound, its waves, loops and eruptions become audible.
From the Sun the piece travels outward to Pluto. Every body has its own sonification and its own visual world, built in TouchDesigner and played live from a MIDI controller.
